The ‘Since U Been Gone’ singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson has shared that she is currently navigating the best way for her to release the kind of music that she feels comfortable with amidst her recent divorce with Brandon Blackstock.
The 40-year-old superstar has spent most of her career channeling her inner emotions and sharing them with the world through her music. From heart-wrenching tracks such as ‘Because of You’ and ‘Breakaway’ to high-spirited anthems like ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)’ and ‘Whole Lotta Woman’, Clarkson has never shyed away from her roots of powerful and emotive writing.
However, due to the understandable painful situation Kelly has opened up about, her music now more than ever demands authenticity and tenderness. Expressing on the Apple Music 1’s The Chart Show with Brooke Reese, she explains that she’s “…never had had this difficult of a project” as she spoke on the trials and tribulations of not only working through a divorce, but looking after her children in the process.
