The 23-year-old pop sensation has decided to delay his ‘Wonder: The World Tour: as he needs time to focus on his mental health. Sharing that he feels he is at breaking point, the Canadian singer-songwriter has previously been very open in regards to the more emotional and transparent side of his role within the music industry. Shawn was due to perform in Minnesota on Saturday, but then announced on the Friday that he would be rescheduling his further 12 shows.
He shared, “This breaks my heart to say this, but unfortunately I’m going to have to postpone the next three weeks of shows through Uncasville, CT until further notice”. He goes onto mention that as he has been a touring musician since the age of 15, he has always struggled and still does with the enormity of being away from friends and family.
Deciding that the immediate commitment of yet another long road-trip tour, Shawn made the healthiest decision, which was to post-pone the rest of the shows in the coming weeks to focus on himself and allow for time to wind down and be where he needs to be. Expressing that he feels he is at ‘breaking point’ has shown audiences and fan alike the lengths our favourite musicians can end up going to in order to share their music with us – although disappointing, audiences came to the rescue in support of Shawn’s decision. As his fanbase has always been committed and ever-growing, we continue to hope that Shawn steps back and takes the time he needs in order to feel like the best version of himself once more.
