Shyfrin Alliance will release its second album, In the Shadow of Time, on November 14, 2025, presenting a precisely written and thematically unified work from the Kabbalah-influenced project founded by award-winning author, businessman, and scientist Eduard Shyfrin. Guided by the motto Music of the Mystic, Mystics of the Music, the album advances the group’s synthesis of rigorous ideas and assured blues-rock execution.
The release follows Upside Down Blues (2024), which earned radio playlisting across the US, UK, and Europe and surpassed half a million Spotify streams. In the Shadow of Time builds on that foundation with seven carefully structured compositions, each addressing a distinct facet of temporality. Recorded in Paris with leading French rock musicians at Studios Barillet, Ferber, and Grand Armee, the record balances articulate lyric writing with tightly arranged ensemble playing, anchored by Shyfrin’s authoritative bass-baritone.
A clear internal architecture governs the album’s narrative, moving between two emblematic images: the inward pull of a Black Hole—suggesting deep reflection—and the steady course of a Pendulum—signaling continuity and return. The lead single, Buddha Blues, pairs an uplifting message of time as a healer with cleanly drawn blues-rock lines for guitar, piano, and Hammond organ, culminating in a gospel-blues chorus. The title track takes a sterner view, imagining time as an austere, shapeless force; rolling drums and a weighty vocal line underline its tension. Shyfrin likens time’s elusive figure to an abstract expressionist canvas in the vein of Jackson Pollock—present, forceful, and resistant to definition.
“I don’t think there exists an album dedicated purely to the topic of time,” Shyfrin notes. “You will not find another album like this. My principle is I may always be afraid to enter new areas, but I will always enter them. Even if it means daring to hit the Wall of Time.” This ambition reflects his broader inquiry into Kabbalah and science, explored in his Amazon bestselling From Infinity to Man: The Fundamental Ideas of Kabbalah Within the Framework of Information Theory and Quantum Physics. “We cannot provide the final answers,” he adds, “but we shouldn’t stop searching.”
