Greek singer-songwriter Politis Dimitris, known as the frontman of Citizen Jim, has officially released his new solo single “Born Into This” under his Politis Dimitris 2.0 project. This marks his first solo effort intended for the UK market and is now available for streaming on YouTube and SoundCloud.
“Born Into This” was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, and draws on Dimitris’s diverse life experiences. Combining southern rock influences with thoughtful lyricism, the track incorporates heavy bass, layered guitars, and a raw vocal performance. The lyrics reflect Dimitris’s background in psychology and traverse themes of modern existence, animistic beliefs, and resilience.
Dimitris has described the production as “large” and evocative of the American west, commenting, “There’s a far west feel—like a Hummer H1 charging through dust and wind.” This big, immersive sound sets the tone for his Politis Dimitris 2.0 campaign, aimed at reaching a broader international audience.
Already recognized in Athens for his work with Citizen Jim, Dimitris steps confidently into the solo spotlight. Plans are underway for U.S. shows and a Japanese tour with Citizen Jim in 2025, positioning 2025 as an important year for the artist.
