This years Met Gala theme was Gilded Glamour – a homage to The Gilded Age focussing between the years of 1870 to 1890. Filled with traditional and dainty moments, a plethora of artists, creatives and celebrity figures alike beautifully championed this years theme with elegance and textural class.
Billie Eilish managed to express a gothic edge to her Gilded Glamour look as she allowed for her striking black hair-do to contrast beautifully against her sage green, cream and lilac infused outfit. With a fabulous corset and lace sleeve detailing signifying a true gilded era representation, she managed to make the look her own in her usual Eilish style.
Shawn Mendes arrived to the Met in glorious taste as he sported an effortless maroon and navy number. Serving as 2022’s answer to a Disney prince, Mendes’ choice in outfit this year fitted the theme perfectly and allowed for the garments to speak above all else. With matte finish Tommy Hilfiger nails to match, hit carpet look was second too none.
And lastly, Sabrina Carpenter also shared an incredible look for this years Gala. Wearing a glamorous gold two piece, Carpenter walked the carpet with grace as she sparkled under the Met gala lights. With a lengthy shimmering train and an exciting sequin take on this years theme, Sabrina managed to reinforce the power of glitz and glam with a traditional accompaniment.
