Weaving electronic elements and modern hip-hop beats, La God crafts a sense of space and hypnotism, with autotuned vocals paying homage to the flamboyant 80’s. Lead initially by the repetitious and vocoder-esque melodies which weave cohesively throughout the track, the wavy vocals and percussive 21st Century beats punch through to create a refreshing take on trap.
Affy La God’s identifiable sound continues to stretch boundaries, with each track experimental in their approach to production. Exploring the various facets of La God’s life, including previous relationships, drug addiction, and mental illness, his music continues to develop, using elements of his electronica hip-hop style, all whilst incorporating songs with no repetition, RnB, and urban pop.
Despite this being Affy La Gods’ initial dip into the hip-hop scene, he is no stranger to creative performance. Landing a role as Young Simba in The Lion King on the West End, Affy La God co-starred alongside Alexandra Burke at The Royal Albert Theatre, AO Arena Manchester, and 3 Arena Dublin. La God, real name Africa Nile, has additionally toured Ghana where he appeared on GBC, Metro TV, TV3, and had his music featured across XFM, Choice FM, YFM and Vibe FM.
Utilising his experience from his own personal struggles, Nile channels this through his own company Block Legacy, to support young people emerging and wanting to work in creative industries – as well as providing resources and teaching to educate young creatives across live and studio recording industries.
