Following the underground release of four singles in 2020, ‘Crazy Train‘, ‘Without a Doubt‘, ‘Young Love‘ and ‘World Gone Mad‘, Grave Jones announces the release of his first album ‘Heartrage Hotel‘, releasing in January 2022, with the gift of the lead single ‘Smithereens‘.
Drawing stories from his time globe-trotting, Jones eloquently paints influence from his time in academia as a philosopher and writer and his work in entertainment as a rock star and model, weaving this into his music. The socialite Esque writer has engaged in jams with The Libertines and kept company with Kate Moss, Scarlett Johansson, and Milla Jovovich.
Distorted and raw, ‘Smithereens‘ is reminiscent of a collection of coming of age, bonfires on the beach at night, and fast car rides, but ‘Smithereens‘ is different. Adding a maturity and openness through creaked vocals and knowledge of life collated through Jones’ global travels, that clearly translates through the heavy guitar, catchy riffs and a falsetto giving it that edge. The track comes to a glorious conclusion, hitting hard with powerful vocals and an organic rock sound that resonates with so many.
Honouring previous music project ‘Slutterhouse‘ in which Jones shared the stage with the Klaxons, Sleigh Bells and Super Furry Animals, the ‘Heartrage Hotel’ album marks Salloums’ members’ much-anticipated return to the alternative scene. Grave Jones has previously collaborated with acclaimed producers Eric Chedeville (Daft Punk, Sebastien Tellier, Charlotte Gainsbourg) and Dimitri Tikovoi (Placebo, Nick Cave, Kill the Young), successfully playing Liverpool Sound City, Dubai Sound City, Stockholm Fashion Week with band Salloum before their split. Signing sync deals across MTV 2 and EA Sports 2, it is evident Grave Jones knows how to write a hit and continues to do so solo almost a decade later.
